What is comfortable, unattractive and comes in more than one color? Well Birkenstock sandals of course! These sandals looked more like men sandals than anything else when they were first made back in 1897. There were no glitter, hot pink color or fun straps to choose from. Today, even with the added additions, I must admit they are still not my favorite. However, someone, somewhere decided to dare and try them, not for looks, but for comfort. The creative implementing of cork provides a flexible arch support and have been known to help those with feet issues. Many celebrities sport them today for comfort and great ease, sending these sandals into “must have” status. So whether for fashion or health reasons, if you have been secretly contemplating on getting them, go ahead because everyone seems to be doing them!
