Be the Salt of the Earth

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭ASV‬‬

Late night (or early morning) scripture reading has me thinking about my part in life. Meaning am I being effective in my walk with Christ? Am I using the gifts and talents to the best of my ability that the Lord has provided? Most importantly am I doing what He has placed me on this Earth to do?

The answer is no. I find myself staying within my comfort zone and doing “just enough.” Yet I know that to make a true impact in life, I must move beyond myself. God has put great things in many of us and if we are not embracing those things and helping others along the way, what is our purpose?

Learning about the “ABC’s of Faith” this month through my church further questioned “what am I doing with my salvation outside of myself” and “How can I be a solution to my community?” Simply put, the Bible says we are the light of the world and that we are a chosen generation. We must set the example for those around us. As we feed our spirit with His Word, the more we will move and operate more like Him and bring others to salvation.

Otherwise, we are just walking this Earth without purpose and the true meaning of life. Be encouraged to move “self” out of the way today so you can be the preserver of those in your midst and do great things in Jesus name. ?
